Eschborn, 01.08.2023. Since the takeover by the LOANCOS Group, VR-IMMOBILIEN-LEASING GmbH (VRIL) has successfully reduced more than 90 percent of the acquired real estate portfolio. Originally, its volume was around 750 million euros in total. The last significant deal was the sale of an 83,000 square meter retail property on 30.06.2023.
The LOANCOS Group specializes in the reduction of non-strategic business areas in the banking and insurance sector. In 2019, it acquired VRIL and its extensive real estate and investment portfolio from VR Smart Finanz AG. Since then, it has sold more than 120 properties, thereby reducing its holdings by more than 200. The sales were mainly commercial properties. The portfolio also included various inland waterway vessels as well as locomotives and numerous freight wagons. Most of the properties and investments from the VRIL portfolio were sold to the former lessees. A few weeks ago, VRIL sold the largest leased property, a retail property with a usable area of around 83,000 square meters and a plot of around 32,000 square meters, to a holding company from the lessee’s environment.
