JEB Investment Group Group has acquired the Business Innovation Centre (BIC) in Frankfurt (Oder) and has taken over the operation of the building and on-site management since April 2022. The brokerage was carried out by LOANCOS. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The office building was constructed in the mid-1990s in the newly developed East Brandenburg Technology Park to support start-ups and offer full-service offices to young companies. The impetus for the technology park is the neighboring Leibniz Institute for Innovative Microelectronics (IHP), which focuses on the research and development of silicon-based systems and ultrahigh-frequency circuits
and is one of the world’s leading research institutions in the field of silicon/germanium electronics. The main tenant in the BIC, Silicon Radar GmbH, is a spin-off from the IHP, and focuses on the development of high frequency circuits for radar solutions and wireless communication applications. With the Investor Center
Ostbrandenburg (ICOB), the business development agency of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) is also based in the BIC and advises companies from Germany and abroad on locating and investing in the region.
Comprehensive modernization and redesign
The JEB Investment Group will modernize the building, which comprises around 7,000 square meters of office and commercial space, in terms of energy efficiency and convert the conference and common areas into a business centre with conference, event and co-working areas. In addition, modern office services will be available to tenants and virtual users.
The owners had exclusively mandated LOANCOS with the preparation and execution of the sale, as LOANCOS has a dense network in markets outside the metropolises and was thus able to broker the BIC at the desired price within a few months.
