BKS annual publication 2025 published – LOANCOS contribution to the VUCA model

29. Apr 2025

The German economy is once again facing enormous challenges – not just as an isolated crisis, but as an accentuated escalation of structural developments. There is still no recovery and the interplay of geopolitical risks, regulatory burdens and cyclical weaknesses is putting pressure on SMEs in particular. These and other topics are addressed in the annual publication of the Bundesvereinigung Kreditankauf und Servicing (BKS), which has just been published.

The articles on the market development of non-performing loans show that the crisis mode is now having a cross-sector impact. In addition, the legal foundations of the NPL business are described in terms of the regulatory framework and the differences in the implementation of the NPL Directive in various countries are discussed. It also explains how the EU DORA regulation and the TIBER framework are helping to stabilize the financial sector and which reforms need to be considered in the Federal Registration Act. From a practical perspective, the role of servicers in the securitization of NPLs is discussed and information is provided on the importance of data analysis using AI models.

Managing companies better in uncertain times

LOANCOS has been a regular contributor to the BKS annual publication for many years. For the third time, our Group Head of Business Development Lars Schröter contributed an article on the VUCA model. In uncertain and complex times, it helps companies – especially in the financial sector – to better understand changes and respond to them with agility, transparency and strategic planning. Through forward-looking measures, the use of external service providers and a learning-oriented corporate culture, banks can strengthen their resilience and remain competitive.
